They’ll be exposed to primary sources, such as newspaper articles written in 1888 about the teachers featured in this adventure. Your students will make choices as they learn about this day, and in the end, will discover what their fate would have been based on those choices. ![]() On that fateful day in 1888, the weather turned suddenly and teachers were forced to make decisions to save themselves and their students. ![]() This virtual field trip takes students through a real-life historical event that has come to be known as the Schoolchildren’s Blizzard. Reservations are required at least 2 weeks in advance to receive field trip pricing and payment will be due on the day of your visit via cash, check, or credit card. Please note: We require 1 adult per 5 students as chaperones for field trips to ensure students act in a respectful and safe manner toward the museum grounds, artifacts, and employees.
